On August 12, 2026, the American rock band Smash Mouth released their fresh full-length studio album of original material — “Mercury Comet.” The release marked their first concept album in 14 years (since “Magic” in 2012) and ushered in a new era in the band’s history.

“Mercury Comet” became the first full album of original songs recorded with new lead vocalist Zach Goode, who joined the group in 2022. Recording took place over the course of a year with the support of Grammy Award-winning sound engineer Robert Orton.
