ANGUS McSIX “Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye”

«Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye» is the second studio concept album by the international supergroup Angus McSix, which performs in the symphonic power metal genre. The album was officially released on March 13, 2026, through Napalm Records.

The album serves as a direct, even more epic and absurd continuation of the band’s debut release, «Angus McSix and the Sword of Power» (2023), taking their trademark sense of self-irony and over-the-top fantasy storytelling to the extreme.

The album’s biggest surprise was the change of both the central character and lead vocalist. According to the story, the former hero Angus McSix (Thomas Winkler) has been imprisoned in an icy trap by his archenemy, the Archdemon Seebulon.

As a result, the spotlight shifts to the hero’s brother, Prince Adam McSix, portrayed by Swedish vocalist Sam Nyman of Manimal. However, Thomas Winkler’s voice can still be heard on the track «6666», which serves as a symbolic “passing of the torch” to the new leader.

Musically, the band retains its trademark madcap blend of high-speed power metal riffs, disco vibes inspired by Electric Callboy and Modern Talking, majestic choral choruses, and completely unapologetic bombast. The music video for the single «The Fire Of Yore» even features legendary German actor Uwe Ochsenknecht (best known for the film Das Boot), who plays the role of the King Father. The album is packed with notable guest appearances:

  1. Rhapsody Of Fire — appear on the track «I Am Adam McSix».
  2. Van Canto — the a cappella metal band contributes to «Dig Down».
  3. Turmion Kätilöt — add industrial energy to «Techno Men».
  4. Freedom Call — participate in the anthem «The Power Of Metal».

The band’s lineup also introduces a new character, The Dwarf, whose identity is concealed behind a mask. The role is played by renowned guitarist and influencer Jasmin Pabst, who performs alongside the warrior Talestris.

The album received positive reviews for successfully preserving the band’s absurd sense of humor and high production quality despite the change of frontman. It is an ideal release for fans of Gloryhammer, Alestorm, and classic epic metal who appreciate a healthy dose of self-irony in the genre.
