“Decades” is the seventh studio album by the American metalcore band Motionless in White, released on July 17, 2026, through Roadrunner Records.
The album was created to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary, which is reflected in the title of the release. The sound production was handled by producers Drew Fulk and Justin DeBlieck.
“Decades” combines classic aggressive metalcore, melodic metal, industrial elements, and alternative rock. Critics describe it as a celebration of everything the band has created over two decades, while also featuring more experimentation and a darker atmosphere than ever before.
The album features several high-profile collaborations — Corey Taylor (Slipknot / Stone Sour) appears on the track “Playing God“, pop artist Skylar Grey contributes vocals to “R.I.P.”, and Anthony Martinez from Dark Divine is featured on “Blood Rave“.
The collaboration with Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor on “Playing God” had originally been planned as early as 2020, but it was finally realized during the recording sessions for the anniversary album. Taylor personally rewrote part of the lyrics to fit his own aggressive vocal style.
The first single, “Afraid of the Dark“, became the band’s first song to top the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. It set a new milestone for Motionless in White, reaching 50 million Spotify streams less than two months after its release. The album itself entered the Top 5 of rock charts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
The album also includes a heavy metal interpretation of Corey Hart’s 1980s synth-pop hit “Sunglasses at Night“.
The album artwork contains hidden details and visual Easter eggs referencing the covers of all six of the band’s previous studio albums, beginning with “Creatures” (2010).
