The first single for the 15th anniversary album “ONE”, which is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.

The track combines Sevendust’s signature features: heavy, “syncopated” riffs by guitarist John Connolly and the recognizable, soaring vocals of Lajon Witherspoon. The song features an aggressive tempo in the verses that transitions into a grand, melodic chorus.

The music video was created by Paul Ribera. Unlike the band’s traditional videos, this one is animated. The video focuses on a “sharply dressed character” who possesses a mystical power that forces people to commit acts completely out of character.

As the plot unfolds, each character faces their “hidden side”, directly illustrating Lajon Witherspoon’s question in the chorus. The video is styled as a comic book coming to life, complete with dramatic camera zooms leading to a dark and “devilish” finale.

Guitarist John Connolly noted in an official statement for Napalm Records: “This song was as honest, natural, and pure as it gets. If you really want to know what Sevendust sounds like in 2026, ‘Is This The Real You?’ gives you a clear idea.”

Official reviews describe the single as having “catchy riffs” and an “upbeat” vibe, contrasting with other, more “abrasive” and industrial song intros on the album, such as in tracks like “The Drop” or “Construct”.

This release confirms that the band continues to evolve, utilizing animation and complex psychological metaphors instead of standard studio shoots.
