“Exit Wound” is a single by the American rock band Marilyn Manson, released on June 12, 2026. It served as the lead single for the artist’s thirteenth studio album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 (the official release of the record is scheduled for August 14, 2026, via Nuclear Blast).

The song is a direct continuation of the dark universe established in the first part of the album (Chapter 1, released in late 2024). Critics and fans describe “Exit Wound” as a powerful blend of industrial metal, gothic rock, and glam rock. Musically, the track is filled with Manson’s signature elements: heavy guitar riffs, a lingering bassline in the verses, and an explosive, almost primal scream in the finale. The track was co-written and produced by renowned film composer and longtime collaborator Tyler Bates.

The lyrics of “Exit Wound” are steeped in Manson’s customary religious and social criticism, yet sound deeply personal:

• Lines about the “eyes of the vulture” and “whispering of leeches in my ear” refer to the pressure from the press and paparazzi.
• The main metaphor of the chorus, “You shot the world, I’m the exit wound,” manifests the artist’s role as the painful consequence of society’s actions.

Along with the single, an official music video directed by Rizz and Gretchen Lanham was released. The video focuses on a live performance of the track. Aside from Manson himself, the video offers a detailed look at his new touring lineup formed in early 2026:
