“My Body Isn’t Ready” is a single by American indie-pop/rock artist Shane Boose, known by the pseudonym sombr. The track was released on June 25, 2026, under Warner Records and has become one of the artist’s most intimate and candid releases.

Prior to the song’s release, sombr posted a short snippet on TikTok with a caption that instantly resonated with thousands of fans:

“I wrote this song about how every time I like someone, I’m too insecure about my body to make a move.”

The single touches upon dysmorphophobia (a distressful dissatisfaction with one’s physical appearance) and how insecurities prevent building intimate relationships. The track’s main message is to offer comfort to people dealing with similar struggles so they feel less alone.

Musically, it is a cinematic, slow-burn pop-rock ballad that gradually builds in intensity. sombr not only provided vocals and songwriting but also recorded the bass, guitar, keyboard, and drum parts himself. In the storyline, Heuston’s character and his friends pick up sombr for a party and later leave him on a hill, while Navarrette’s character helps him break free from his shell, and they spend the night wandering through the city together.
